Guest guest
I've had chickens in my life for all of my 72 yrs--:-) On the farm as a kid & hatching them in the classroom as a teacher & now as an old foggy here in my 12 acres of woods. :-) Got 3 little Rhode Island Reds at the Tractor Supply store last year. They were raised inside till they got old enough to join the rest of the gang outside. They still considered them selves members of the family..When my son & I came home one day all three were nestled in the middle of the kitchen table waiting for us... All I could think of was the old Ma & Pa Kettle movies... Took a while to get them to believe they are chickens & they belong in the coup at night... Have them free range--Ponds for H2O & I haven't even mowed the lawn yet so lots of greens--Black oil sunflower seeds fallen from the bird feeder & corn...I couldn't believe the size of Ed's ( ) double yoke egge !! Made two trick eggs with one egg... Lois { Our " trick eggs " have many other names---A slice of bread with the center pulled out--egg dropped in & center cooked beside ...I like my yoke broke,,,:-) } ( haven't named them all but the are Red--Fred-- & Ed Grin
