Guest guest
Hello. (Sorry for cross posting) I had the privilege of meeting several people from The Brent Woodall Foundation yesterday. I enlisted their help on behalf of my daughters who are both mildly affected by autism. I wanted to tell everyone what an amazing group of people they are! Especially Pierce Woodall, the founder. She is a veritable wealth of information. Please visit their website, if you haven't already - www.woodallkids.org. I would encourage each of you with children between the ages of 18 months and 6 years to contact them about their parent training program. They come in and do an educational assessment on your child and develop appropriate educational goals and a behavior intervention plan (if one is needed). Then, they train you to implement effective strategies for teaching and managing problem behavior. I understand the need for funding to prevent autism and find a cure, but, as the parent of two children who have autism now, I think it is important that we also support causes that directly improve the lives of families and children already affected. In order for them to continue to offer free consulting to families in need, it is essential that the community support The Brent Woodall Foundation financially. They are having a Walkabout fundraiser Saturday, September 10th in Coppell, Texas. Registration begins at 8 am for all participants. A minimum donation of $25 for adults and $10 for children is requested at the time of registration. Immediately following the walk, join friends and family for refreshments. All participants will receive a t-shirt at the event. If you cannot make it to the fundraiser, but would like to help The Brent Woodall Foundation further their mission, you can make a secure donation online at www.woodallkids.org/donations.html. If you found this information interesting, please pass it on! Barahona
