I do not believe in radiation since I am already having trouble with eyes. I want to stop the change from Hashi to elevated graves before more damage. My dhea is elevated too, and frankly my rage level. AM cortisol 19 range 8-19. My d is low and that is after just coming back from a trip in the the tropics He also sent me a good article on it is anyone wants a copy,. It is a pdf. Nice to meet you to. The article talks about calcium with a d deficiency by the way. JAMY -- Re: 5-htp With Hashi and Graves I take 5-htp. Hi Jamy, I'm a Graves/Hashi mix too... Good to meet you! :-) I like to supplement with small amounts of 5-htp too, and have found that Vitamin D (which is actually a hormone) helps to combat many of the symptoms. From spring thru fall, I live in shorts and sleeveless tops -- soaking up the free Vitamin D from the sun. (We have a gorgeous and productive heirloom veggie garden.) This summer, my family teased me about my dark, dark, really dark tanned skin -- but who cares? At least I was not suffering with those dang panic attacks, everytime the old thyroid swung into HYPER! Now that Old Man Winter has arrived in Arizona, I'll be grabbing the bottle of 5-htp again and drinking lots of milk (for Vit. D). Hope YOU are feeling terrific. Nice to "meet" you, Jamy!
