remembering what I've read on the clay list, too, is that you can

mix the tablespoon of clay with 4 ounces of water

I am sure this is just an oversight on your part. 1 to 4 is too thin

as a clay poultice for the eye or anywhere.

The book says 1 to 3.

I have used it on my eye. But you want to make sure not to get in in the

eye because it makes the eyes too dry.

You can also mix the clay with C/S instead of water.
