Sheila I'm going to start this new schedule today with taking a half

in the morning which is usually anywhere between 5 or 6 a.m. then the

other half I'm going to take around 10:30 or 11:00. These are the

times I take my pain meds but because I'm taking the Armour

sublingually, I don't have to worry that the pain meds will interfere

with the Armour being absorbed. Also, me personally, I don't think

the taste is bad at all. In fact, the most vial tasting med I take

is the Xanax...now that stuff is really nasty and if it starts

disolving before it gets swallowed, it's got this really bitter nasty

taste where Armour, almost has a little bit of sweet taste to it. If

your sniffer's workin, try to smell the pills and see what you think.

I personally don't feel a consistent time is important because on the

weekends I don't take it at the same times that I do during the

week. Also, I work a rotating schedule alternating my working hours

from 7-4 one week, and 8-5 the next week so I'm not always taking it

at the same time. I haven't noticed any changes with how I feel

corresponding to the time I take it but I am still getting

improvement more and more with this Armour.

It sounds like you're in a place that sells Armour cheap, like alot

of other people. Who knows why I have to pay so much for it here in

FL! I know how ya feel though wanting to just get 30 the first time

to see if you can handle it...believe me I've been there done that

with all the meds my neuro had me try to rid my pain and I was stuck

with bottles of stuff that didn't work, mainly anti-depressants and

alot of NSAIDS type meds but I was convinced this Armour was gonna

work and wanted to get a sealed bottle so that I knew it would be

fresh and boy let me tell ya that the bottles I've been getting are

good ones because this last one doesn't expire until 6/05! I keep it

stored in a place that the temp is pretty controlled and dark. It's

in the headboard of my bed which has storage areas with doors on

them. The only way you could get a sealed bottle is if you buy it in

qtys. of 100 because that's the way the pharmacy gets them.

Since Forrest Pharma doesn't have sales reps for Armour anymore, if

they ever had them, I don't think you'll ever find anybody having

samples to give out besides it's so cheap, compared to alot of other

meds out there, it wouldn't be as important for them to give out

samples.

I have to tell ya that the girls I work with have been making fun of

me the last couple of days. I've ALWAYS been the cold one in the

dept. and even the one on our whole floor where some have actually

said I wear a toe tag (meaning I'm dead) all the time because as long

as they've known me, I've always been cold with even wearing a

sweater during work in the summertime! Well the last couple of days,

in the morning, I've been getting these hot flashes! They said they

were going to mark it on the calendar and put out a company-wide memo

to the fact that " Debbie's hot!!!! " LOL. Could be just plain old hot

flashes from starting menopause, but since it's happening about the

same time each morning, that's why I'm going to start splitting my

Armour dosage to twice a day and see if IT has something to do with

these hot flashes. My tests are showing that I should be having

hyper symptoms too, like yours did but clinically, I'm feeling better

then I have in YEARS, and we're talking hypothyroidism for almost 30

years now! (Now that I've been taking the Armour, it REALLY pisses

me off that nobody, nobody all that time ever put me on it before

especially since I'd told them all that the Synthroid NEVER made me

feel any better - all that time!!!!

Now I'm wondering if I'm gonna die when summer comes again. I've

always been able to take the heat and very rarely ever sweated even

in August during the dogs days of summer in FL! A cooler climate

might become something I'd consider next summer LOL. I've been here

for almost 20 years and have told everybody that they'd never be able

to drag me from FL because it's just the way I like it - HOT...we'll

see next summer hehe! :o)

I haven't been taking these cold snaps very well though and was

hoping the Armour would have made them easier on me...maybe it will

take just a little bit longer or won't help me at all because of my

RA and Fibro. I've been in alot of pain this week because of the

cold weather and this is just the start of it. Could be just

a " flare " though so it's a wait and see kinda thing for this winter.

The barometric pressure changes still bothers me quite a bit and

there's nothing I can do about those anywhere I live!

Sheila best of luck with the Armour because you deserve to feel

better too! You will notice that the brain fog will start to lift

too although with me and the fibro, I still have those kinda days!

{{hugs - feel better}}

Debbie :@)

Hi Debbie!

Thanks so much for the info Debbie! I actually got me a pill

splitter a few days ago. I had no need for it, but I guess I figured

I would start the Armour!

Got some questions. You said you take your first dose when you first

wake up and then the next right before lunch. How many hours apart is

that? also, do you take it like a half hour before lunch?

I wake up at different times every day. Is a consistent time

important?

With school starting soon, my schedule is gonna be a mess.

I got 2 scripts...one for 30 pills and one for 90. She suggested I

might want to just get 30 to begin with just in case I have some kind

of reaction to the medicine (something that seems to happen to me a

lot), and that way I wouldn't get stuck with a bunch. It cost me

$6.00 for a month's supply.

If I do ok on it, then I've got my script for a 90 day supply at a

time.

No, the pharmacist didn't give me a sealed bottle and I forgot all

about that. I remember you guys talking about it. Why is it

important? Can I get a sealed bottle from my pharmacy?

I doubt very seriously that we have Armour samples from in our drug

closet at work. My supervisor has been great about getting me samples

of meds that I need. It has helped me SO much. I'm gonna see if we

have Armour samples, but I highly doubt it.

I'm SO glad that you're feeling a lot better. Girl, you deserve it!!!

I just can't believe what a difference it's made for you and others.

I just hope my body will be in hog heaven once I start taking this

stuff!!!

Hugs, Sheila
