Guest guest
Hello, This is the first time that I am using the listserv to post a question for feedback. I am still fairly new to the Transplant World and the TX Financial Coordinator group e-mail provides some really good questions and answers. I was wondering if your OPO charges an admin fee for non renal imported organs. And if, how much? Sonja Kohlgraf Financial Analyst UIHC, Surg. Guest guest
I think it is customary for your local OPO to tack on an administrative fee for import organs you receive. Our OPO charges $1,500 in addition to the pass-through fee from the other OPO. I am not sure what that is intended to cover, besides their overhead, if anything. But the import fees are part of your organ acquisition costs, like transportation, so are carried over to the cost report. Fred L.
