Guest guest
A new job with my DH's work means we will be moved by his company in the next few months to New Jersey. The job will be in et. It will happen quickly & we will have only a short time to buy a new home (co. will sell ours here). So finding a good place to live is the first thing. This is why we are asking on the list as maybe some of you live there, some probably know folks that live there or even if you have only visited or vacationed there, your input, advice & guidance is very valuable for our decisions. We have all our NT sources figured out for here, but will have to start from scratch in NJ. We feel like, at most, DH wouldn't want to have a commute more than 1 hour to the new job. So we wouldn't have to limit ourselves to just that city. It's just the two of us. as part of the moving policy we will have to " buy " a new home, so. We would rather not have neighbors right outside our windows...more of " just out of town " type area, but still fairly close to shopping, Dr's, etc. This will be an opportunity to find a good holistic type doctor, I have arthritis & thyroid issues so I have to find Dr. New dentist...another good chance to find holistic care We are also wondering about raw milk etc.(is it legal there?), meat, Farmer's Markets, HFS, Whole Food store, Trader Joe's & would like to be closer to those sources. As much as we would appreciate " good places " suggestions, we would also like to know of any " BAD/STAY AWAY " places. Don't want to get into a crime or drug type of area. So, please, anything you can tell us would be wonderful. You can rely to us personally if you wish, so as not to bother those on the NT list. mcswires@... Thanks to all, & Dan
Guest guest
Try Momouth County in NJ. It is so different from other places because it has beaches. It is not too far from et either. Hunterdon, Somerset and Counties are also nice and a nice commute to et, but these are horse counties. Beautiful estate communities are abundant in these areas. In Monmouth, horse countries also exist, but the place is just so varied. It is just so beautifu. Try Colts Neck, Holmdel, Middletown, Rumson, Shrewsbury and Little Silver, etc. Schools here are also nice specially Holmdel. We stayed in Middletown where there are trains, buses and ferry to NYC. Beach is ten minutes away from our place. Malls are not so far either. Most of Monmouth County towns are bedroom communities but with good shopping areas and produce markets. In Colts Neck they have Delicious Orchards are real big farm market with zillion varieties of cheeses and their own made breads and cakes and pies. We are now here in Texas and miss the East Coast terribly. > > > > A new job with my DH's work means we will be moved by his company in the next few months to New Jersey. The job will be in et.
