Guest guest
Hello-- Simon's post reminded me that it would be good to share a change in protocol that was beneficial for the teenager with brain stem injury. For about 28 sessions he trained with a 2C WS (12-15 Hz) at one inch above and to both sides of the inion. The initial improvement was dramatic, especially in improved speech and sleep, and anxiety reduction. Improvement seemed to plateau over time, and even wane when he was under stress. I'd read about training the same area for balance with a 15-18 Hz reward, and decided to try it. The boy preferred it to the earlier reward frequencies, saying he felt more relaxed. After introducing the 15 -18 hz reward there was noticeable improvement in the strength and coordination of his hands. I don't know if this was a direct response to the new protocol or if it was the result of ongoing change from the prior reward frequency. Any thoughts on this? In any case, his writing improved. He could not only tie his shoes for the first time, but he is beginning to learn sign language as a foreign language requirement for entrance to college. Thanks, Jane
