Speech and language difficulties are often the first signs that parents and teachers notice which indicate that a child might have a learning problem. Although many people think that speech and language difficulties result in children not pronouncing words correctly (articulation), articulation difficulties are only one of many speech and language problems that an individual can have. As children grow older, expressive and receptive language difficulties affect all academic areas, as well as social situations.
