Guest guest
I went through this problems for years and years and at that time this list and everyone else thought I was crazy! Makes me mad I could not get advice back then, but I am here now. Occasionally, Angel will still do this, but rare now. We had to put locks on everything and our angels lol would also bust doors and bolt or get into things still. We just got lucky though lol. We moved into an apartment complex at that time who would just replace stuff and go on. We also finally got a metal front door and we put like 5 different locks on the doors. We didn't have to worry so much about safety because there were no screens on most of the windows so if we had to escape there we would go. Lol this worked for us and our little Houdini-ett gave up on trying to escape She also would repeatedly slam doors and cabinet doors drawers etc. We got her a big play house where she could have all the control she wanted over the windows, doors etc and finally just before we dropped from heart attacks and insanity she stopped all of this. Part of it is also medicines too though because if she was off of them she would do still do this stuff again. Tammy

He is not as bad but still if the front door is open or he can get a hold of the key he is out of here. I took both the boys outside the other day and it was the first time in a long time that Jessie did not try to run off to my Mothers house or my Uncles house. He did walk part way to my Grandmothers house but when I told him to come back he did. Thankfully we all live right by each other and out in the country so when he does bolt to their houses he is not crossing any streets or dangerous areas. Marcye Still this is very scary I don't know about Jessie but Angel would escape in the middle of the night. I woke up at 6 am one morning and she was NO where to be found. My husband and I briefly separated he was living in the same complex with us and was directly across from us so she went looking for him. She ended up in the parking lot trying to get in to a neighbor's vehicle and right next to the street and you know no matter where you live in the middle of the night and early hours of the morning an unsupervised child is a prime target for crime! God bless all of you who deal with this problem. I have been there and know what it is like. It's also easy for those who don't deal with this to get ugly with their suggestions and feel like you are not doing enough when you are doing all you can. This stupid world when you go looking for help for a problem like this " Professionals " even will try to fix you wanting you to go to parenting classes etc... When us parents are the ones bolting, breaking doors and slamming them. So if you come under attack by nosey neighbors and stuff or even psychologists etc... ignore or tell them what I just said lol. You don't know what it's like an cannot offer relevant suggestions unless you have been there! Tammy

I swear that she can smell keys. If she is wanting to bolt or get into something keys do not work she would get them no matter how hard she had to climb. And NEVER put them on your person with her lol she will know you have them and will pick pocket you without you ever even knowing.
