um, yesterday we gave my girl soem children's lemon

flavored cod liver oil and she was more miserable and angry than

usual....any ideas why?? I gave 1/2 tsp - exactly what the directions

called for. I think I remember her getting worse on other occasions

when i have given a lot of omegas.

free fish oil, If you want to use fish oil. Fish oil is slightly higher

in Omeg-3's then flax seeds/oil. But my HFS does carry a mercury free

fish oil supplement for children, adn those who don't want to deal with

too much mercury. HTH

Also, flax seeds/fish oils help with soo much more than just digestive

health, and proper brain development. Omega - 3's are essential for eye

development, as well as they help with keeping the joints lubbed up,

they are a natural anti-inflamiatory, they help build up the good

cholestrol in your blood, they strengthen the heart, help keep your

skin nice smooth and supple. they're are soo many wonders to

flaxseed/fish oils that go beyoond the GI track.

I've ever seen are in packets like paste? Also, are we taking our

chances with the risk of Mercury?

I always thought that omega-3s were good for everyone. But at the trying-low-oxalates yahoo list (at least I think that's where I saw this), there is a file that says omega-3s can have a negative effect on kids with oxalate problems -- while other kids with oxalate problems are helped by them. They recommended experimenting with them to see what kind of effect they have in your particular case...I wonder, personally, if it depends on whether or not an oxalate " dump " is currently in progress or not. It's so hard to know with constipated kids, too, if how they behave on a certain day is related to what they had that day, or what they had ten days ago...

I'm not sure that helps...I've probably raised more questions than I've answered with this post!Bonnie
