Guest guest
Hi Folks, Need to pick your brains. Patient being listed for kidney transplant. Has been on dialysis for 3 years. Never signed up for Medicare due to ESRD. Owns his own company which has 12 employees and has great insurance. Never enrolled because he thought it would mess everything up. Two questions: If he signs up now for Medicare, will there be a penalty? Will the COB period end (group ins becomes 2nd) since his "entitlement" period was 3 years ago? Also are there any special rules due to the very small group?
