Guest guest
Can you get some pure aloe vera gel? Even the liquid can help! No broken skin? Are you sure it was a scratch? Was it broken/wound and now healing? Aloe is a natural healing for wounds and also a natural anti inflammatory(internal and external). This is why it is also so good for the gi! These schools just get way to involved with our kids! We shouldnt feel nervous about every little thing when sending our kids to school(im not saying that is your situation, but they sure are taking over the parents role)! Sorry, but I happen to just read this post after getting off the phone with hubby and (after many years with our older son and the schools)we have had enough! We are actually discussing attorneys!! Never thought we would even consider such a thing, but it has been a nightmare for our oldest(this is not our severe disabled child). Jennie<>< > > I need some help. Guest guest
This, too, happened to our son. His hands gotdry and itchy...he scratched til it bled. Our naturopath suggested an allergy to the anti-bacterial soap that many schools use. Could this be a possibility for her? Our doc said kids who are used to a more natural approach will react to the chemicals in the soap. We used olive oil (straight) and coconut oil rubbed on to help it heal up. He also doesn't wash with soap after using the bathroom. ~ Tracie Itching reaction I need some help. Was gone 4 days and the DH was caretaking for our ASD daughter. She scratched the top of her hand until very red and it looks inflamed. ( no skin broken) He got a call from the school nurse inquiring about it, telling him what to do and so on.................I had already spoke with him and told him to put on Neosporin. Anyway, now the nurse is getting all involved and wants to check her hand everyday to see if it's healing and if she should go to the pediatrician. My feeling this could of been from either eating some tomatoes, starting her on b-complex, constipation, or just the stress of Mommy being away. I did call the pediatrician and spoke with his nurse and she mentioned taking an antibiotic. Have never heard of this for scratches on the skin and am leery due to her yeast/bacteria issues. Guest guest
Jennie - how was the wedding?? Kathy, I'm not sure if this would be the same thing your daughter's experiencing, but for my son, he got a red, slightly rough/raised rash on the backs of his hands and wrists. It seemed to show up shortly after nursery school one day and just kept getting worse. I don't think, however, that he scratched it very much so maybe it didn't itch? Anyway, the pediatrician said it was contact dermatitis and to use hydrocortisone cream on it. A small amount of the cream did clear it up and we never figured out what started it. Not sure how you feel about hydrocortisone cream...? (BTW - are you doing LOD? could it be related to oxalate 'dumping'?...) whatever it is - hope it clears up soon. best > >> > >> I need some help. Guest guest
Kathy, my dd ends up in the nurses office several times a year with weird rashes, things that itch etc. This only happened after the miralax, I think this why we see so many hypersensitivity reactions from the fda, I think they become sensitive to things we would normally be able to tolerate like cleaning a desk top with 409 etc. I think it's from exposure to chemicals, my dd seems to be sensitive to the poly on the hardwood floors, right after we refinished the hardwood floor she broke out in strange rashes on the backs of her legs from sitting indian style on them and was the only one to have a reaction and it was where her legs were touching the floor. I've been in the schools and see them spraying all kinds of things on the desks, you should look into what cleaning products they are using, and in which rooms are they different? These things they come in contact with seem to irriate the skin so bad, they keep scratching and scratching, wash with a mild detergent, Dawn or hand soap, with warm water and it should releive the itching. If not use Aveeno oatmeal packets, they tend to absorb and sooth. HTH Jeanie -------------- Original message -------------- I need some help. Guest guest
Hi Jeanie, I took her to the pediatrician yesterday and she has impetigo !!! Now, she is on Bactraban. I plan on discussing what chemicals are used in the classroom as well though. Thanks for your support. Guest guest
The wedding was so nice!! It is gonna take a while in getting used to my daughters new last name:) Minutes befor the ceremony started, we was asked for the wedding license and realized we forgot it!!! Me and my hubby was the only one that new where my daughter lives(that is where the license was/everyone else was from out of town, not familier with the vegas area) and I was going to have to miss the ceremony to go get it, so upsetting! The chapel couldnt wait until we had it and started the ceremony anyways and said it had to be there as the wedding ended! My husband said he wasnt going to let me miss it and said he would go. So he walked her down the isle to give her away and left write after that to go get it! Everything worked out! The trip was a little hard on my youngest, gi wise, but got home and he is doing better(had to do enema...uuugh)!!! Jennie<>< > > >> > > >> I need some help. Guest guest
I just fininshed a Food and Sanitation course and they told us that they were having a problem with the alcohol and chemicals in those instant sanitizers and they recommend real hand washing and only using the instant sanitizers as a secondary Jeanie --------- Itching reaction I need some help. Guest guest
Kathy, Impetigo is is one of those terms they use like dermitis, which simple means you got into something and it irritated the skin. Isn't it funny that the one that took the miralax ALWAYS has this problem and the one that didn't NEVER has this? --------- Re: Itching reaction Kathy, my dd ends up in the nurses office several times a year with weird rashes, things that itch etc. Guest guest
I was reading about it and it seems people with impaired immune systems get this and also eczema, which she has as well. I attribute it to vaccine damage also.
