Guest guest
Oh Tracie -- my heart goes out to you! I know I can seem a little extreme when I keep beating the magnesium drum, but your example is exactly the reason why. Many local heath food stores care Calm -- call them and see if they have it. The sooner the better. It will probably take at least 4 of the previously 'normal' doses before he'll go. Up the fluids as much as you can! > > Clear DayOur son has been doing so well with his constipation - we got him off miralax and on all the great supplements suggested by this board...now, however, I'm up for " Bad Mom of the Year Award. " Since he was doing so well, for several months, I decided to mess with the protocol we finally had worked out for him. When reordering all his supp's, I didn't reorder the magnesium - we use Kirkman's chewable magnesium wafers. Our son hates the way they taste and everday was a fight to get him to take one, so fine, we'll skip it. Big mistake. He has not pooped in over a month...he's back to the encopresis, the tears, the shaking cuz he feels like he has to go but nothing will come out, he's stopped eating, he's crabby and lethargic and has no patience. I express-ordered the Kirkman's on Friday - it can't get here fast enough. I really believe this has been the key to his success (because everything worked together). Now that a piece to his puzzle is missing, nothing is working. > > So, just wanted to put it out there that magnesium has made a huge difference for us. I'm sick that tomorrow is a national holiday and there's no mail. It means we won't get it til at least Tuesday. He's begging for it to come and tearfully promised me he would take it everyday when it does come. > > I hate consipation and what it does to our little guys!!! > > Tracie >

Guest guest
Hi Tracie - No, you aren't getting any such award!!! I think LeeAnn was referring to either Natural Calm, or maybe the Kid's Calm version. http://www.petergillham.com/product-line/peter-gillhams-natural-calm.php I think Natural calm is just mag citrate and the kid's calm version also has a few additional ingredients...?? http://www.petergillham.com/product-line/peter-gillhams-kids-calm.php And, I think Kirkman's uses UPS and they're probably working tomorrow....?... Guest guest
Here's the link...after re-reading the ingredients, I wonder if it's the B-6 that's working...that's the main vitamin at 2500% of RDA. The magnesium is 6%. In response to your other post, I could do MOM. I did not think of that. http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/products/vitamins/b6/B6W291_120.html Re: magnesium , could you post the link for the wafers? Guest guest
These items have a great deal of synergy: magnesium B6 zinc B6 is one of the first things they use to detox EG > > Here's the link...after re-reading the ingredients, I wonder if it's the B-6 that's working...that's the main vitamin at 2500% of RDA. Guest guest
Hi!! Im so sorry your son is going through this! Honestly I think he may need an enema if the wafer's dont work. At a month(has he had any stool?), the stool has probably hardened to much. Not eating, shaking, etc. is severe backup! Im not sure how old he is, but you really need to get the stool out, if not toddler age or younger, try the mineral oil, it well help lubricate the hard stools so they can pass!! Citrate magnesium at this point is highly recommended at high dose!! Im not sure what form the wafers are. What is the mg's on the wafers? I sure feel for you and your son, I hope the wafers work!! Guest guest
Hi everyone, Thanks so much for all of your help so far. I posted last week that after stopping mirilax and doing a clean out we were using MOM. So far, it seems to be working well. I am starting to become concerned about using this product long term though. Right now, he is taking 1 tablespoon daily and hopefully we can start reducing soon. How does MOM compare to the other magnesium products I have read about on this site? Thanks again, Mallory You rock. That's why Blockbuster's offering you one month of Blockbuster Total Access, No Cost.
Guest guest
Mallory, weren't you touching base with us a couple years ago on here? they all work, it's just a matter of which one works for you, a lot of people on here use citrate. If MOM works, stick with it, they make a chewable in cherry and mint. Thank you for sharing -------------- Original message -------------- Hi everyone, Thanks so much for all of your help so far.
