Dear ,

I appreciate your situation here. I have had several patients who are sensitive to all the things life brings on a mental, emotional, and physical level.

After 17 years of practice, I can tell you each is a difficult and challenging but not overwhelming case.

This looks like an occult viral infection. Do you know about Dr. Klinghards lyme syndrome protocol? It is easy and not very expensive. However, from what you describe, your patient being very sensitive, is not in a space to accept this treatment yet.

I look at digestion. A patent with anxiety and disease is not digesting well. She need hydrochloric acid, pancreatic and plant enzymes with every meal. This also means she needs amino acids which will calm the brain chemistry. Oversensitivity means she needs GABA. it can be very calming, 300mg lasts about 4 hours with no side effects.

I look what is causing her extreme mental condition; electromagnetic field overload? Grief, fear, family situation? Perhaps a homeopathic for mania behavior.

I feel strongly that with anyone so sensitive to everything, it is really about fear: current and past build up on old experiences. You need to do some work here.

Build gut health first with digestive products, chlorella- followed with 2 caps charcoal, and probiotics.

Let me know if you want more guidance as you progress. Good luck. Keep going.

Please Help with Difficult Diagnosis

Hi Everyone! This patient has been recently diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome. She is a 48 year old woman. She experiences daily low grade fever and chills, has chronically low serum ferritin, hypofunctioning thyroid (diagnosed in ultrasound, unmedicated due to normal TSH, free T4, thyroglobulin), extreme fatigue and muscle pain, intermittent passing of kidney stones (diagnosed hypercalcuria in 1987, currently medicated with hydrochlorothiazide since 1996), daily acid reflux (medicated with Pariet since 1996, improved immensely with digestive enzymes without protease), pain on skin with light pressure (decrease of pain with topically applied heat), salivary lithiasis (probably connected to Sjogren's), occasional outbreaks of Shingles, frequent lymphatic swelling lasting for weeks and then subsides for a few months before reoccuring, past endometriosis (still menstrual cycling with pain at ovulation, dysmennorhea) .Through her history, I have explored the possibility of Lyme disease - she did have a unexplained back rash at the time that her dog had a tick. Blood tests were performed months after the rash, with negative result.I have her on BTG's, but have been unable to use any UNDA's or other supplements (other than the enzymes and probiotics. She is so extremely sensitive, that even UNDA's applied topically create extreme anxiety and shaking. We have been successfully using Silica cell salts BID and Nat Mur cell salts qd. After an initial increase in joint pain, her digestive system pain has decreased immensely. Previous to this improvement, she has been unable to eat anything except toast and applesauce. IgG shows mild strawberry and wine vinegar reactivity. Nothing significant. The question I have is:Does this follow more of a viral or bacterial pattern? What is the cause? How do I recommend testing to determine this? Thanks for any suggestions!!SincerelyDr Griffith, Naturopathic PhysicianTerrace BC
