Hi, Kate,

Oh, my heart goes out to this little man. No fun! Here are a few

thoughts that spring to heart-mind; use them as you see fit:

Is he able to get some safe, loving touch, either from Mom, you, or a

therapist, or perhaps some cranio-sacral work--to nurture his

parasympathetic nervous system?

Tillia tomentosa would be a lovely remedy to consider here. It's well-

suited to sanguine, " bubbly " temperaments that tend to suffer with

anxiety in the face of chronic stress. If this little guy is more of

a melancholic sort (internalizes stress and then gets exhausted), or

if he has signs of liver or, especially, gallbladder weakness (showing

signs of timidity, lacking 'courage'), then Rosemarinus officinalis

would be a worthy thought. 1/2 tsp bid would be a fine dose for

either of those.

If he's got associated g.i. distress related to this, then a botanical

'simple' of catnip would be a great consideration. You can dose that

pretty low--a few drops in water tid, to perhaps a dropper bid ...

probably best not to overdo the catnip, as I've heard it can become

almost a bit narcotic-like in kiddos if it's overdone.

Unda #s 9, 22, and 228 could be nice ... to rebalance his nervous

system with a little extra focus on the kidney (#22) for anxiety and

with the relaxing mints that #228 contains for the traumatic aspect of

the situation.

You might wish to consider a single homeopathic in, say, a 30 C

potency, or a tissue salt here, depending on whether or not a

particular one seems to fit his personality; Kali phos (if he's more

melancholic and worn out by this) or sillicea (if he's notably timid)

come first to mind. Gammadyn CuAuAg might be worth considering to

support his adrenals and reestablish a more normal sympathetic/

parasympathetic balance in his ANS.

A good source of minerals and alkalizing elements feels important

here ... perhaps something like AFAgen could be supportive. Check to

see that he's eating some regular protein, ample good fats, and as

many veggies as you can get a kid to eat.

Especially if he's outwardly anxious or if he's having trouble

sleeping, epsom salts baths, maybe with some lavender essential oil

added, could be really nice, too.

He's going to be fine, I expect, and his hair will come back, I'm

sure, once his nervous system regains it's balance from the chronic

stress it's been under.

.... Man, the things we sometimes do to each other ... ! We don't mean

to hurt each other, but it seems we too frequently do.

May my suggestions be of some help ... Peace,
