Guest guest
I wrote last week about the evaluation I received from my son's psychologist Well, he sent a copy to the school too, and this morning I received an email from my son's speech therapist requesting an ARD to discuss the evaluation. Mind you, if you read the results, you would have seen that he said " If a medical diagnosis were required at this time, PDD-NOS would be the most appropriate " . So I didn't get a diagnosis, exactly, and at the last ARD, which was only a month ago, we placed interventions on his IEP that are used with ASD kids, like visual schedules, warnings of schedule changes, etc ... So I'm wondering why they feel the need to go over this. It shouldn't change anything. So I emailed my advocate to tell her and her reply was that she thought it was interesting as well, and that maybe they are going to label him AU going off the evaluation because then the school district would get more federal money for special ed. That really irritates me. I'm curious what everyone else thinks. Anne
