Sir,

It would be appropriate for your committee to do

something concrete about ME / CFS and combat the

psych thrust.

I suggest a strong letter to the Royal Society of

Medicine in London regarding their forthcoming

meeting on ME /CFS, protesting their emphasis on

the psychiatric relationships in the disease. The

speakers are primarily speaking on psychiatric and

psychological diagnosis and treatment . This is a

Medical meeting of the Royal Society of MEDICINE.

I know that your committee dwells important on

matters viz " ...on whether it is an -itis or an

-opathy " but here is an opportunity to do something

important for our community of patients and

researchers.
