Guest guest
I took my asthma medications during my twin pregnancy in 2004-2005. My girls are just fine. I was on Advair, Singulair and Albuterol. My doctors felt it was safer to keep me on the asthma medications then to take me off and me have a life threatening asthma attack during my pregnancy. Allergy medications are fine as well. I used Claritin as needed.
Guest guest
I believe alot of it says precautions when pregnant, I'd speak to your dr about pregnancy, I've be worried about the Codeine with pregnancy I've never worried about any of that since my Hysterectomy, wish I was of more help the best I can say is to go a website like www.cvs.com and check out your meds for precautions on pregnancy. Terry I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much. ~Mother Teddy Bear's Early Learning ProgramEstablished August of 1992 From: asthma [mailto:asthma ] On Behalf Of FFTaz71@...Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2008 7:43 PMTo: asthma Subject: prednisone... Well, I finished my last prednisone today...and this afternoon my chest was tight, I am wheezy but my peak flows are just barely dipping into my yellow zone. GRRRRRRRRRRR. It doesnt help that we thought we might be pregnant and that hope was solidly dashed today too.I noticed yesterday and today too, that my ear is pressurized..and it hurts. I stopped taking the Codeine stuff since I stopped coughing, but I noticed that the antihistamine in it cleared me up sooooo good. So I took some tonight and we will see if my ear clears out any.And...the whole issue that we mightve been pregnant brings up questions of how safe is it to take prednisone if you are pregnant? For that matter, what about Flovent, Singulair and Zyrtec?? Find phone numbers fast with the New AOL Yellow Pages!
Guest guest
You could maybe make compensation in other areas too....for example because you have chemics with asthma, be extra careful with chemicals in other foods. Can't say I know much about pregnancy though. Guest guest
I dont know how safe it is but i HAD to take it with all 3 of my pg's and they were all born healthy but now they are all 3 ADHD and one is autistic and one is being eval for ODD , i dont know if the prednisone caused it all or if they were just destined to be the way they are! I would recommend precautions tho if pg and taking it. Guest guest
I did a couple of short steroid bursts with my last pregnancy (11 years ago!) and he was a very healthy 9 lbs 1 oz baby. He does have asthma & allergies, but that is often inherited. I took my allergy medicine and inhalers without a hitch. I even did allergy shots during one pregnancy with no problems. I know there are certain allergy meds they prefer when you are pg, so I would check with your dr now if you are planning on becoming pg in the near future. I don't think inhaled steroids have any or barely any side effects for the baby if you are pg. They give some of them to babies with breathing problems, so you would think it would be safe! Hope you are feeling better soon. I'd check with your dr about the cold turkey steroids with you back in the yellow. You may have tapered too quickly. Take care! Kathleen P.S. My boys all have asthma & allergies that they inherited from me and ADD /ADHD they inherited from their father. Autism is usually from a shared genetic marker from both parents. (My husband's oldest has Asperger's Syndrome). > > I dont know how safe it is but i HAD to take it with all 3 of my pg's and they were all born healthy but now they are all 3 ADHD and one is autistic and one is being eval for ODD , i dont know if the prednisone caused it all or if they were just destined to be the way they are!
