Guest guest
Hi everyone! I've been lurking on this list for a few weeks and think the issues you nurses discuss are very interesting and informative. I am a student nurse in SC, due to graduate in December then take the NCLEX-RN in January 2000. My FAVORITE rotation was on a postpartum unit, working with moms & well babies. This is the area I really want to work in. My question is this: What are your ideas on hiring new grads into your areas of work? If I were a new RN at your agency, would you want to hire me onto your postpartum unit, or would you prefer I have more experience? If more experience is preferred, in what area do I need that experience? Med-Surg? Women's Health? Postop? Please give me some ideas! I want to be a postpartum nurse, and I am willing to do what it takes to get there, even if it means working in a not so desirable area for a little while! Thanks in advance for your replies, Sloan South Carolina _________________________________________________________
