Guest guest
I have both PCOS and Hashimotos... and Fibromyalgia... With one auto immune disorder can easily come more. Talk to yuor aunt and cousin about using wild yam pills. I seemed to have reversed most of the side effects with taking 6-8 wild yam pills a day... it's alot of pills but worth it. PCOS sucks.... Guest guest
Also I don't know if the PCOS stopped their periods... mine was gone for a year. No doc could figure out how to fix it. Within 3 months of taking the wild yam I got my period back and have had it ever since. Also eating Yam supposedly has the same effect... you just have to eat ALOT of yams! Lol! Guest guest
I am being treated with metformin for PCOS, it seems to be helping. I am not gonna try hormones for now. Guest guest
Stay away from the hormones as long as you can if your case isn't that serious... I was put on them and had a psychotic episode. No joke... Messed up stuff. Metaformin has been suggested but I think I'm doing ok for now. Pregnancy isn't an issue for me, meaning that as long as I am healthy I don't feel the need to protect my fertility. Guest guest
I am trying to conceive, but I do get my periods and according to my tests, I am probably ovulating without the Metformin. My main issue to take the Met was that with testosterone 11x normal, I was pretty sure to miscarry if I conceived (the progesterone has to be in balance not only with the estrogen but also with the testosterone to sustain the pregnancy). Add that to the Hashi's risk of miscarriage and it was not a good prospect. I prefer to stay on the Metformin and the Prednisone (I am taking that to suppress the testosterone in the adrenal glands) than to go on hormones, they would be my last resort. They'd mess up my thyroid all over again, for starters. And when I was on the pill, I spent one year after and the 4 months while I took it having endless varicose vein treatments and with lots of leg pain. No, thanks. Besides, the Metformin and the Prednisone treat the sources of problems, and the hormones just treat the symptoms - I always prefer to treat the source.
