Hi everyone, I hope you are all feeling your best.

I am set to be at TCI next weekend (the 21st-24th) and was wondering if

anyone had some suggestions of things to do over the weekend that don't

require a ton of walking. I am staying at the Floral Park Motor Lodge

but am willing to travel a little and will have my parents with me.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I can't wait to get to TCI. If

you happen to be there to and would like to meet let me know.

Hi!!

The first time I went to TCI I was doing OK but not great so I wasn't

able to see alot.

However, the best thing we did was to go to Battery Park in Lower

Manhattan. W took the subway but I wouldn't recommend that as it was

really crowded (no room to sit at first) There are a lot of options

in Battery Park. The absolute BEST was the " One Hour Harbor Cruise "

from Cirle Line Cruises. It was $15 a person but you actually get to

see a lot without walking AT ALL (except to get into the park itself

of course).

From the boat we saw: Manhattan coast including Ground Zero, New

Jersey coast, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island,Staten Island, the

Queen Docks, Pier17, Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge and

Washington Bridge, Governor's Island and many other interesting

aspect of NY.

You are not able to get off the boat to stop and see anything but we

got some great pictures of things I wouldn't have gotten to see

otherwise. It was a little cold(we went in April) as it is much

cooler on the water....so make sure you have a jacket!

You can also take the Long Island train into the city and go to Times

Square. There is a lot to see and do. We walked from station (about 9

blocks) but it was reeally tough. They do have the bicycle taxis (not

sure what they are called) or you can take a regular one and its not

too expensive.

If you want more info... email me and I can send you info on the

cruises or even bus/train info. They do have alot of brochures and

things at the airports for other options too!

Take the boat ride out to see NY from the water. We did and it was wonderful.

You sit during the tour and that was nice. Eat dinner at Pier 15 or 17,

beautiful view. Drive down to Long Beach and enjoy the ocean. Most everything

else in NY City required more walking than I could handle so we did things that

kept us from walking and or standing alot.
