Guest guest
Does anyone have a downloadable version of the medicare part b fee schedule. RE: Kidney Donor Billing We have a patient that is donating her kidney and has a commercial insurance. The recipient also has a commercial insurance primary and Medicare secondary. We made the request to the recipient commerical insurance to pay for the donor cost but they are requiring a denial letter from the donor's insurance. The donor's insurance states they cannot do a denial letter and that a claim will have to be sent to them for the denial to be done. Soooo the recipient's commericial insurance will not issue an authorization to pay for the donor cost without the denial letter. So, are we allowed to bill the donor's commericial insurance so we can get a denial? I didn't think any billing was to go to the donor's insurance. Are there different rules if it is commercial insurance instead of Medicare?
