Guest guest
What is a good local source of a copper grounding plate? I have tried hardware, plumbing, roofing/siding, arts & crafts stores, all without results. I have an online source but would rather try to buy it locally. If I buy it online, I would like a health or food grade quality copper that does not have contaminants that would be absorbed by the skin since the skin is the largest absorptive organ of the body. " Do not use copper against the skin. turf
Guest guest
I have not seen any studies of skin absorption of metal electrodes. I do note that Hulda , in The Cure... recommended copper hand holds, covered with paper soaked in saline solution. Perhaps the paper provides protection from copper absorption. Dr. was so concerned about the absorption of metals, I find it difficult to believe that she would recommend copper if absorption was an issue. R. Voll, said to be the founder of elctroacupuncture, reported on a testing of a number of metals, including silver, and concluded that brass or graphite were the best for electrodes. Voll's conclusion was based on factors such as accuracy, expense, patient reactions, and ease of use. However, I did not find mention of absorption as an issue he considered. Brass is an alloy that contains copper. Voll indicated that in addition to its accuracy in taking readings, brass was preferred because it was not already present in the body. I used brass pipe for handholds for the zapper and haven't noticed any adverse effects or even any discoloration of skin where my hands contact the paper conducters. If absorption is of concern, would graphite alleviate the concern? I wonder if a graphite sheet could be found for plate electrodes? I don't know much about graphite, but I'm guessing that it is expensive and difficult to work with.
Guest guest
> ly, , I do not know a lot about this. But I do not really like the idea of having any metal against my skin, especially with electricity flowing through it. I just feel that there is too much possibility of contaminants being released. Same here. I have been thinking about building a grounding plate and handheld electrodes or pads with fine silver sheet (available at numerous places on the net.) Just get a couple of 6 x 12 " pieces of the sheet, glue them on a board a few inches apart, and attach a grounding wire. For handheld electrodes, wrap the sheet around copper pipe. The connections could be made with banana jacks or binding posts to make reconfiguring easy, so that zapping could be done from foot to foot, hands to feet, etc. Since I don't use pad devices much, I have not gotten around to this. I use a tesla tube device occasionally, though, where the tube can be held and grounding the feet increases the effects. For this, I typically use a foot bath, the electric kind with massage and heat. The water is grounded when it is plugged in. I add some salt or epsom salts (and usually some wintergreen, rosemary, and tea tree oils to increase the effects in fighting acute illness.) turf
