Guys there is an apartment complex right behind where we live and a week ago

there was a man trying to lure little girls in his vehicle. Thank God he

was caught and arrested. This is very scary! I was in the bathroom this

morning and Angel opened the front door and was walking out. Every once in a

while she will try this. I panicked and screamed when she did this scaring her

so she came back in. When I was done and went outside with her, I asked her

what she would do if someone she didn't know drove up and promised her candy

or something and tried to get her to get in his car or truck. Gulp! She

said, " I would tell them thank you and go with them! " She did not understand

when I told her, " No way Angel, you tell them, Hell NO and run inside because

they want to hurt you! " She really did not understand. That is very scary!

Rebekah understands, " Thank God! " How do you teach a blind child what to do

here? Being autistic she does not understand. She is high functioning she

can learn, but how? Anyone have any clues here? I will keep talking, but as

her mother, I know just talking to her is not going to help her understand

and if this situation occurs she is gone :( *cry!

OH Tammy how very frightening for you. I am sorry that I don't know

anything that would help. I do hope that someone has some ideas because I know

that

Jessie would most likely just get in with someone if they offered him

something or just offered a ride as he loves to go, go, go!

Yes, Angel also loves to go go go and yea, it is okay I contacted all of her

teachers and she understands now. Thank God! Now, I have got to figure out

how to keep my little Houdini inside when I am going to the bathroom lol.

We have 3 l different locks on our door and that is not stopping her. The

door opens to the outside instead of in so there is just not a lot we can do

with it.

I sent Angel's main teacher an email about all of this and asked her to

forward it to her vision therapist and aid she did that and forwarded to all of

Angel's teachers and therapists today and ALL of them talked to her. When she

came home I asked her again what she would do if a stranger promised her

goodies and asked her to get in a vehicle with them and she said, " I have to go

inside! " I told her yep and that a stranger like this does not really have

candy or a puppy etc they are just out to hurt little children. She seems to

understand clearly now.

That was very scary as there really was a man just behind where we live

going all over the place trying to lure little girls, but he was caught quickly

thanks to a smart little girl who ran and told her parents. The little girl's

dad sped away and followed the stranger and the mother called the police.

This was all over the news. The man was just put on probation and then he

goes off and gets really stupid. It is not him I fear because he is

incarcerated at this time, but there are a lot of these sickos around here.

It was kind of cute that she used her manners and told me she would thank

someone that was going to give her candy, but man did my heart drop because all

this time I never knew she did not know this though you would think by now I

would.
