Guest guest Posted November 30, 2002 Report Share Posted November 30, 2002 Well my power supply fried. sec1223. Popped like a paper bag. I only used it today for a half a hour. I noticed the forward votage reading was higher than usual on the last freq I ran before it went.Over 100. Hopefully it didnt blow anything else. So it was suggested by a tech that I get a pyramid PS36. So I ordered one.But I can stop the order if I do it soon. Questions: It got very hot.What caused it to blow? Will this new one be better?it`s 30 or so amps.It also has a breaker in it. Do you think it could have been because I was using an extention cord? I bought and was using a 12 gauge,25 foot cord to allow maximum amperage to flow through. The power supply ran very hot from the first day I got it, 4 days ago. Even with good SRW. 1.2 to 1.5. I looked inside and a row of about ten small resistors are there,and a few burned out and were blackened. Hopefully Ill be back up and running when the new one comes in a few days.I was really getting into it. :~} Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
