Dear Debbie,

You are on the same meds as I am, except I use the cousin to

neurontin, Lyrica. I have been on Vicodin for my arthritis for a few years now,

and they had me on neurontin for some " pinched nerves in my feet/ankles. I take

the Flexaril for the muscles in my back that were damaged during a work

accident. But the combination, along with Lexapro, is doing awesome things for

me. I am being referred to a rheumi too. I had this lady Dr. a few years ago,

like 6 or 7, when my Doc thought I might have RA, and now he is sending me to

her for my FM in hopes of seeing if I do have CFS too. If you don't have a

FM?CFS/ME specialist near you, a rheumatologist is the next best thing. I am so

glad to be living near to OSU medical center. They have so many great

specialist. It's an hour drive, but well worth it. Hope you get some good help

soon.

Hello Debbie, and all,

I am a chronic lurker, I read all the posts, and gain tons of info, and more

important, I am validated, I know I'm not nuts, (well?), I dont feel so alone in

the world. So, welcome Debbie, and I hope you find this site as helpful as I do.

Even if I dont post. I always have tons of questions, and its just tiring for me

to ask them all. I am diagnosed with CFS, after two yrs of having lots of

incorrect opinions. I see a rheumy, and I am not on anything at the moment other

than Effexor, which I cannot get off due to the withdrawal sx, and I am on

Kapidex for gastritis. I swipe my mom's vicodins to use for pain but other than

that, my doc hasn t given me anything else? He/I tried Savella , 4 times, and 4

times, I couldnt tolerate it, or the weaning off of Effexor. So, thats all I

have for now, WELCOME!

If you have been diagnosed with CFS why doesn't your doc put you on Lyrica? It

is an excellent medicine. Also Cymbalta, an antidepressant, also helps alot with

pain. I have failed back syndrome and already being on ms contin the doc decided

to try me on Lyrica. What a God send this med has been for me. I think others

would also benefit from this med.

Cymbalta made me blackout and I've been taking Lyrica for Fibro for 7 or 8 weeks

now, I'm stopping it, I see my doctor next week but the Lyrica does nothing for

my head/neck/top of back pain (car accident), or my fatigue.  Hopefully you will

have better luck since we all respond differently.  Good luck.  Bob.
