Guest guest
Hi Jim: Ask them how they are taking the remedy. Best case scenerio, the drops just 'flow' out of the bottle. However, anyone who has taken these knows that this isn't always the case. It could be they are shaking them out and thinking they are getting the prescribed dosage but they are getting less. If this is a the case, a couple of tricks. I have found that if you ( in this case the patient) puts the cap on and turn it cap side down and hit it on your hand (pretty hard) ( hopefully this isn't considered a succusion!) and then open the cap and blow strongly into the hole (enough alcohol in there I am not worried about contamination) the remedies flow more easily. You could also suggest that they dipense the dosage onto a spoon so they are see what they are getting. I usually prescribe patients to take UNDA#s at 8 drops each, twice/day. This is supposed to last them approx. 3 weeks. I have recently been having patients come to me for their monthly appointment and saying they still have about 1/4 left in the bottle. They swear they started them the day of (or the day after) the last appointment, and they took it exactly as prescribed. I don't want to call them liars, but how is a bottle that should last them 3 weeks lasting 4 weeks, with 1/4 of it left? If this was just 1 patient, I would be thinking about it much, but its been a handful now in the last few weeks. Is UNDA putting more in their bottles?
