Lance,

On your better days just try to do light exercises. Like yoga,or

walking. Me, I used to go to the mall to walk before the stores

opened. Then I could have the distraction of looking at all the

goodies in the windows, and it is temp. controlled. LOL

Drinking a healthy drink is a good way of not loosing too much

weight. Like I told everyone time and time again. If you are feeling

a bit queasy. Have a cup of ginger tea or ginger ale a little bit

before trying to eat.

And remember Lance we are here for you. 6 shots you are on the

treatment for 24 weeks right?? So 6 from 24 is 18 weeks. Yeah you

are about a quarter of the way through it. Good going Lance. Keep up

the good work. We are rooting and tooting for ya.

Love,

Janet

I'm a passionate road cyclist. In the summer of 2002, in

the middle of treatment, I went on a 46 mile ride and it

took me 4 hours! Several rest stops. Last year, about 6

months after treatment I turned in a 3:37 time on my 60

mile ride. I'm going for under 3:30 this year.

It's the anemia. My hemoglobin dropped by a third but it

was probably the side effect that dissipated the fastest

after treatment.

Be careful of weight gain after treatment. You'll want

to eat like a pig!!

Hang in there, Lance! I agree with you and Doug, I'd try to keep up my physical

activity, whatever it is, as much as you can! To me it's just a way of fighting

back. Just think with each rep " I'm killing that virus, I'm killing that virus,

I'm killing that virus. "

I'm not speaking from experience, I start up in about a month and a half or so.

I have a wedding to go to, would like to do that first. Not sure if I could make

it if I start treatment first.

Red meat makes you nauseous, huh? Guess I better restudy my amino acids, and

stock up on beans and rice and tofu!

Any semblance of a workout schedule is out the window. Just try to

catch as catch can. I figure after the treatment, I can reassess and

take it from there. I am sure Lance Armstrong was not up to par

after his cancer treatment.

I try to drink a whey(protein) smoothie w/ a banana, beans and rice.

I have added these to my diet to make up for ther loses. Looking at

red meat just turns my stomach.

Keep you head up!!
