and University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS). AIIMS, UCMS and the Indian

Academy of Geriatrics (IAG) are pleased to announce the second International

Congress on Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine 2012 (ICGGM 2012) for the

advancement of care of older people in India.

 

The

Conference will be held at University College of Medical Sciences, New

Delhi – 25-26 February 2012 (Saturday & Sunday) and at All India Institute

of Medical Sciences, New Delhi – 27-29 February 2012 (Monday – Wednesday)

 

The

conference will focus on the themes of

·         Women’s

issues beyond the reproductive age

·         End of

life care and dying with dignity

·         Sarcopenia

and the Frailty Syndrome

·         Compassionate

care of older people during emergency and disaster situations

·         Proteomics,

biomarkers and nanobiogenomics

Besides

these focus themes the conference would also have sessions on ageism, age

discrimination, elder abuse, depression, social isoloation, dementia, cognitive

impairment, incontinence, falls, diabetes, andropause, developing a career and

research in Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine.

 

Individual sessions and day

programs would be of interest to social workers, psychologists,

anthropologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dieticians and

nutritionists besides doctors, nurses and other allied health care workers.

Several competitions including

research presentations, new idea presentations, clinic-pathological cases,

journal clubs and photography exhibition have been scheduled at the Congress.
