Guest guest
Hi.. I used to be a fitness instructor...( certified <g>) who also did much with yoga in my classes. It is like MANY things with chiari...there is not black/white...right/wrong here. Some yoga positions/philosophies could be helpful to some people with chiari...Some could be simply the worst.... The issue is sorting these all out. And believe me, the average yoga instructor will not have a clue!!! A basic example of this would be " the plow " .... normally taught in pretty basic classes...I remember doing it often...IMHO NOT a " Good thing " for anyone with chiari. It isn't so much the " teach in person " concept...it is more what is being taught!!! I personally do not take any classes... I don't want the hassle of explaining to the instructor what I can and can not do! Sally R... ACM decompression '91...Hydro with 2 revisions...doing very well in Pa with no medications!
