Guest guest
Hi everyone! It's so nice to see the list of RawDairy folks growing and growing! Just a nice friendly reminder (no "warden thing"! ;-) to remember to add the disclaimer "OT" (stands for Off Topic) when you are going to be talking about anything but raw dairy products. Personally I find the topic of raw meat interesting and I like learning about stuff like EMs, but do keep in mind when you post on topics like that, not necessarily everyone on the list is going to be interested in things that fall out of the raw dairy domain. Example: GMOs. Most people interested in RawDairy are interested in GMOs since the two are so closely tied (raw milk coming from cows grazing on GM soybeans? eeeew!) but don't assume so and do tack on "OT" if you are posting on the example of GM. That gives readers the option of skipping that post when they see it. Some of you may ask: How do I determine if my post (or reply) is off topic or not? The answer: If you do not have at least a reference in there to tie your post in with any raw dairy product, it IS off topic! No ifs, ands, or buts- it's that clear! (At least I think so! Correct me if I'm wrong.) Also remember to check the length of your posts. Many subscribers are on "Digest" which is one long, long, email comprised of a bunch of posts. If emails are not trimmed, some tails can get to be real, real long! Not good for anyone, most especially those with limited email boxes (i.e. Yahoo, Hotmail) and those with digest-mail. I don't think it has been happening a whole lot but it never hurts to be consistent, yeah? Just cut and paste where applicable. Now off my moderating soapbox, I want to say: A Very Happy Memorial Day to you and yours! (And keep enjoying your stay on Raw Dairy!)
