Need Help on Tough NFP Situation - Cervical Damage

I was contacted about this situation - would NaPRO or Marquette with the monitor be the method to refer to for this situation? Any suggestions?

She has six beautiful children all under the age of nine. With her husband they have decided that they need to find a method of NFP to allow them a little space between their next child since they feel the need to focus on the children they already have. The problem is that after her 3rd child she had some abnormal cervical cells show up leading to a biopsy. During her 4th delivery, docs didn't realize what was going on - when she was in very active labor her cervix wouldn't open and they left her for almost two days before doing an emergency section. This resulted in a lot more trauma and damage to the cervix. Her last two pregnancies were very high risk (5 month hospital stays with planned C sections at 36 weeks). So the problem now is that baby 6 is almost a year old - about the time when her fertility returned with the others. She has learned sympto-thermal and ...[ received OM] training and actually had her charts looked at by [counselors in both methods who indicated they could not help her]... Her charts make no sense at all because she really doesn't produce any recognizable mucus. Her temps are unreliable because she is tandem nursing the two youngest and cosleeps with both so basal temps are hard to come by. So, other than complete abstinence for a time, which her and her husband are not looking forward to, I am trying to help her find a method of NFP that might work for her.

Do you know of anything that is new, maybe worth looking at for her. We came upon this product but don't know anything about how effective it would be at helping postpone a pregnancy. http://www.zetek.net/ovacue_fertility_monitor.htm

Thanks.

abscesses = " absence " -> spell check is really wonderful sometimes!---------- Forwarded message ----------From: Picella <

Did she chart her cycles during the last pregnancies? Is there any way to verify that the abscesses of mucus currently is due to cervical damage. Maybe you know this already but having a chart to verify would be much more reliable than a history.

This is very odd. I have at least 3 women with cervical damage. These women can't get pregnant.Since your are teaching Creighton, do you have a Medical Consultant she could see? That would be very helpful to fully assess the situation.

I had one woman trying to get pregnant after 2 cervical cone biopsies and almost no mucus at all. I had her purchase a fertile focus microscope to identify salivary ferning patters, but I found that to be somewhat unsatisfactory an not as reliable as stated. To really monitor saliva, I think you need some training and probably a much better microscope than the " toy " ones that are being sold.
