Guest guest
Kishore, I just read that story we had all appreciated on this mailing list. Yes, its your original alright, though I can't say how much of it has been modified... And yes, I did not notice any acknowledgment... Its not a question of credits alone, you need to ask for permission from the original author first. Sorry I have to say this! Ravin '82 > Dear Varsha, > > I did visit your blog. Guest guest
Dear Varsha, Since I have passed out from MGIMS, this college has so infiltrated my being that if anyone from MGIMS asks me for something, I never have the heart to say no. I have given animations to various departments of MGIMS, I have written articles and stories for the various magazines from MGIMS, and there are some people who have also benefited monetarily due to their Sevagram connection. I charge a goodly amount from other people for each of my cartoons and animations, but never from Sevagram. Why? Because I consider Sevagram to be my family. My recent article Woh Kaan thi was published unauthorised. However even there I was given due credit. But when somebody from Sevagram does this, it hurts like a stab in the back. As a writer, the most precious thing that you earn, are the kind and encouraging words from people who appreciate you. Even if they are barbs, a response in any form is something to goad you on. But if you rob me of my credit, you are robbing me of everything. That is plain and simple stealing. I remember, when I used one of Anshu's quizzes, I had asked for her permission. She had been surprised and had given me blanket permission to use any of her quizzes. Yet when I used another of her quizzes, I did ask for her permission again, though she had already given it to me the last time. The simple fact is that if you would have only asked me, I would have readily given you permission, and gladly, at that. However, now that you have apologized, I think we need not prolong this. I hope that my letter conveys the extreme hurt that I have felt. Here's hoping that you write original stories. You do have great potential. Please do not use these shortcuts. You can definitely make it on your own. Kishore Shah 1974 Varsha you disappointed me To: mgims Date: Saturday, February 28, 2009, 1:20 AM Dear Varsha, I did visit your blog. However, I was very disappointed. No. It was not the writing which disappointed me. I found one of my stories directly lifted and modified, without giving me due credit. Is this fair? http://reej. rediffiland. com/scripts/ xanadu_diary_ view.php It is the third story from top. You can all read the story here and tell me your views. And I'd be very interested in hearing Varsha's version also. Kishore Shah 1974
Guest guest
Varsha, I second what Kishore has said, also, he has forgiven you. You have talent, avoid shortcuts :-) Time to move on now...
