When I started my last round of treatment they started me at

800mg per day of the ribavirin. About 8 months into treatment

they bumped me to 1200mg per day and that caused a severe

psoriasis flare. It did not really bother me because the

treatment made me feel like crap and I was consuming mass

quantities of tranquilizers and sedatives to combat the

insomnia. It did not go away with the end of treatment so

my hepatologist sent me to a dermatologist. It responded

very quickly to ultraviolet therapy.

Recommendation: your friend should see a dermatologist.
