That's the only thing I can think of. maybe the baby was fine during labor, but just became shell shocked during delivery and it just took a few minutes to come around. Guest guest Posted October 15, 1999 Report Share Posted October 15, 1999 In my area we do a 10 min. Apgar whenever the 5 min is <7. Perhaps the 10 min Apgar in this case was 9 or 10 (we have one neonatologist that likes to give 10's) meaning the kid just had a very slow start!
