I have a patient, mid 50's, healthy, went to Bahamas, got diarrhea a

few days, and since return, his hands hurt and sting when he puts

them in cold water even for 20 seconds. He had some fatigue after,

and some metallic taste in mouth, but these have passed.

Stool for parasites with International Parasitic Disease lab is

negative, though does show some dividing yeast not candida, and I am

not clear this is related to his current symptoms. I treated him

initially with herbal parasite treatments, and hands no better

Seems like a hand neuropathy, which by itself is uncommon, that I

thought might have been related to parasite. Any ideas?

Zieve, M.D.

Hello --I wonder if he is having a cold-induced urticaria. Do the hands puff up and get reddened in a hive-like way? If so maybe the virus/parasite has his immune system ramped up and out of balance and its leading him to have this over-blown reaction.Maybe quercitin to stabilize the mast cells, work on GI barriers, and balance his TH1/TH2.Keep us posted-- Saccomanno ND LAcRed Leaf Natural HealthPortland, ORWholistic Health CareI have a patient, mid 50's, healthy, went to Bahamas, got diarrhea a few days, and since return, his hands hurt and sting when he puts them in cold water even for 20 seconds.
