Guest guest
One of my Creighton Model clients is a newlywed young woman who had been told by one Dr. that she has endometriosis and another that said she just had dysmennorhea. She has no health insurance at this time. I will be doing a phone follow-up with the and her husband in a few days, and would like to find out what I can about a question she had. Perhaps some of you can help. She has had gummy mucus before in past cycles, but this time it was dark brown, and a little bit of pink-tinged gummy mucus on Peak +7, plus once the next morning. Is this treated the same as unusual bleeding? (Consider it fertile and add a count of 3) Or is this a variation of gummy mucus that can be considered as just gummy? She also said that she had mild pain similar to the severe pain during her period during mid-cycle the last few cycles. I will continue to try to get her to see Dr. Hilgers or a medical consultant, or at least send in her chart to Dr. Hilgers. It seems like her past medical care has not been at all thorough. Her medication is high doses of ibuprofen for pain during her menses. In the meantime, does anyone have the information on how Creighton Model advises couples with this type of mucus who use the method for avoiding pregnancy? Or any other ideas to help her with her symptoms? Thanks! Knutson, RN,MS,FCP Natural FertilityCare Services Hokah, MN 55941
