Guest guest
Just some suggestions .... First, I think it is important to acknowledge and thank him for his help and interest in your well being becuase he does seem to be interested, he wants you to feel better. Second, perhaps you agree to see the colleagues but ask him to submit the paperwork anyway for TCI, because you want more than one opinion, AND it takes a long time to get into TCI and you want to be sure all your bases are covered. Third, becuase migraines are part of what you may be experiencing, though not the whole story, they might be able to help with that part. They might know more about Chiari than your current doc. I am sorry that we have to see so many doctors to get answers, but that is the nature of our problems, and the path many of us have had to take. I can't even count the number of doctors I saw over the years before I was correctly diagnosed. Hope this helps. Juat my two cents. Guest guest
Hi everyone, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has already offered such thoughtful (and supportive) input as to how to approach this problem with my doctor. I've gotten responses individually as well as to the whole group--and I want to thank each of you. I also want to say sorry, my original email wasn't actually finished when I sent it out--I started to write it after speaking to my doctor, and it sort of started to turn into a bit of a rant, so I meant to edit it before sending it out...and then before I could even finish writing it, my cat stepped on " Send " on the keyboard, and out it went! So, sorry for the half-written (un-edited) email. Thanks for finding my question in it even so! I really like your ideas, Hanna, about asking my doctor to submit the paperwork for BOTH doctors, to cover all my bases...I think that not only will that meet my needs, but it will also avoid bruising my neurologist's ego, which I'm sorry to say is a little bit sensitive. I hate that I have to worry about that, but it's something that has to be factored in. And I appreciate that you reminded me that he IS looking out for me, and is interested in helping me, even if he is going about it in a different way than I wish he would. I will be sure to express that to him. Again, thanks to all, who have given me support and suggestions! Ginger
