Guest guest
Dear Cobalt and Group, You think you know a person and then they say something that just blows you away! That was a very profound observation, Cobalt. You know, I beong to lots of groups besides this one. Yesterday for the first time someone in one of my groups died. He was Luigi, founder of the Sarcoid Connection Group. I didn't know him too well as I got " no email " and didn't check into the Group too often. I know he was a great guy, an I wish I had gotten to experience his gift on a more personal level. I am reminded of Donne's Lines: Donne Meditation XVII: No man is an island... " All mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated...As therefore the bell that rings to a sermon, calls not upon the preacher only, but upon the congregation to come: so this bell calls us all: but how much more me, who am brought so near the door by this sickness....No man is an island, entire of itself...any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee. " Farewell, Luigi! Love,
