Guest guest
I had read that news with some amusement. Interesting piece of evidence to prove the redundancy of the existing political system in India. Balvinder Rana 87 Subject: Anpadh Mantri To: " mgims " <mgims > Date: Wednesday, 28 December, 2011, 3:08 PM  I listened to the wise men of India debating on how to stop corruption through the Lokpal Bill. And, I was reminded of a very interesting person. Have you heard about a man named Kalyanasundram? No? It does not matter. He has no achievements which can draw anybody’s attention. By the way, he was in the news recently, but for the wrong reasons. Mr Kalyanasundran happened to be the education minister of Puduchery. Now look at this man’s credentials: he is not even a matriculate. It is definitely interesting but not extraordinary. Rabri Devi could barely read but was the chief minister of Bihar. There are quite a few other totally unsuitable persons occupying important positions.  The story does not end here. Kalyanasundran became aware of his shortcomings. He decided to further his education. He was to take the Class X exam. Here we have a twist in the tale. He used a proxy to write the exam. The minister was definitely intelligent despite no formal education. Ironically, others were supposed to address this charlatan as Honourable Mr Kalyanasundram as long as he was the minister. Alas! We would never know who selected him to be the education minister.   When last heard, Kalyanasunram had reportedly gone underground (whatever that means). It is desirable that he stays underground, buried deep. Education can do without such an education minister. When will we have a bill that stops Kalyanasundrams of Indian politics from entering public life? Bharat
