Mark,

I live in Seattle but go to California to see Dr. Franco about 3 times per

year. I've been having a HECK of a time talking to him or a nurse lately. He

apparently has a new receptionist/self-appointed gatekeeper that won't put me

through, take a message, etc. Says to get any help I must COME IN because she

doesn't want to become the " go-between " . Well, I AM going in this coming

Thursday, the 4th, and hopefully I won't make a complete fool of myself while

voicing my displeasure.

I'm currently on 200mg minocin three days per week and zithromax two days per

week. I hoping to begin IVs or IMs soon. Other than that, I'm taking Motrin

(tons), ginger/curcumin and Omega EFA for inflammation.

Ah that receptionist must be related to the ER nurse from Hades I ran into at

the hospital the other night. Where do they find their help?

Hey Lose the Motrin it is ibuprofen and is bad for you, and tell you dr. to

give you some decent pain killers I take codeine #4's for my pain when need to

and if it gets too bad I take a trip to the good hospital <As opposed to the

private hospital with the nurse from Hades> and get a shot of Demerol. Good

luck in talking to your dr. about pain medication.

What dosage minocin are you taking? What's your Doc telling you?

, you have my heart because I felt just like you. If I could only

help. All I can say is get the IV's or IM Clindamycin that is what

really started me feeling better. You need to be on something stronger

than Motrin or the inflamation will never let the antibiotics work. See

if your doc won't give you stronger anti inflam. I also take Cortef

which is supposto be better than prednisone. See if the doc will order

Ultram its a pain pill not an inflam and you can use it with an inflam.

I hope you feel better soon <BIG hug>

, it's time for some detective work.

1. Are you on the diet? Drinking 8 - 8 oz. glasses of water a day

min.? Good elimination?

2. What changes have you see in your labs?

3. Maybe a switch to doxycycline is in order, or doxy in the morning

and Minocin in the evening. What about IV clindamycin so necessary in

most cases of resistant or long standing RA? How about adding

Zithromax? Discuss this with your doctor.

4. You've been on antibiotics for 19 months plus NSAIDS. It's time you

checked for systemic candida and leaky gut. These problems will impede

your progress and in many cases cause a regression.

5. Have you checked for other infections - allergies, sinuses, root

canals, etc.? Optimum benefit from this therapy is achieved when all

these problems are properly addressed.

6. Did you have an elevated ASO, and if so was it treated? The ASO

titer can spike again and should be checked periodically for a while

until the doctor is convinced the problem is eradicated.

7. Are you deficient in antibody? Intravenous immunoglobulin might be

necessary.

Last but by no means least - check your pH value. These organisms need

an acidic environment in order to survive. PH strips can be purchased

in some drug stores. You might try 1-800-969-6601 to obtain these

strips. 6.5 to 7 indicates a good alkaline environment. If you need

help in this area, let me know.

Ray Barrett has recently posted on oxygen therapy and that is worth

investigating. Contact him for further details.

boy do I feel lucky...Dr. Sinnott has a special time each day alloted to his

AP patients...you speak to Dr. Sinnott personally and he has never billed me

for the several calls I have made to him in the last 26 months. what a

guy..huh?

Cindi/Iowa RA 42 yrs AP 26 months

P.S. I became a grandma for the first time this evening....Autumn Joy weighed

in at 7lbs 6oz....mom and baby doing fine...dad's grinning from ear to

ear....baby's perfect....lol

<<

I know just how you feel. My regular doc is in a clinic and it is the same

way.

Also like you my clinic is long distance and I always rack up a bill trying

to

get thru to someone. I believe the girls are trained to never deliver

messages

or let you talk with the doctor. Once I did complain to my doctor and he said

to

just tell them he told me to call him. Still if I really want to talk with

him I

have to make an appointment and go in and Medicare gets stuck with the bill.
