Guest guest
There are some inspirational stories that I just can not pass up. This one came from Little Giant Steps' newsletter. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! It was as if I could have written it myself, only I am blessed with many boys and zero girls! LOL Kristy Out of the Mouths of Babes There are days – I am sure we all have them – when I long to wear “dry clean only” clothes and have a full hour for lunch instead of ten minutes. Some days I feel like Goldie Hawn in “Private ” when I plead, “I want to read a book in one sitting; I want a promotion; I need a day off!” With another lonely winter indoors with two small children, I sometimes think about going back to work. I just recently had a “bad” week with the girls – milk was spilled at every meal; the two year old said “no” a minimum of 1,000 times; and no one liked the meals I cooked. Just when I thought the worst was over, the girls got a cold and I was up all night with one or the other – children, it seems, never wake up at the same time when they are sick and you are tired. On Friday afternoon, just minutes before my husband was due home – at which time I was going to scour the want ads – I got the hiccups while holding my two year old. This was the first time she saw where hiccups were coming from. With the matter-of-fact way two year olds attack the unknown, she pried open my mouth, stuck as much of her face into my mouth as she could and demanded, “Who is there? Come out of Mommy’s mouth before I count to three!” Like a rainbow that shines after a terrible storm and gives you hope, I put my thoughts of “dry clean only” clothes in the back of my mind and decided maybe it won’t be so bad next week. Who would want to miss this? --Author Unknown
