Thank you Jane.

I'm going to do as you suggest--talk to my doctor , explain what I've heard, and

see what he says. Thanks s very much for your input and willingness to share

info. :-)

Hi ,

I don't know if Ritalin is now being prescribed by physicians in general for

CFS/FM. I hadn't read about/heard of anyone taking it for CFS & FM, but I'm

certainly glad I tried it.I was quite surprised when my doc suggested it, that's

for sure.  It makes sense that it could be beneficial for us - I mean, it's

essentially an 'upper' - It increases the levels of dopamine and norepinephrine

in the brain, thereby increasing your energy levels, helping you maintain focus

and concentration.   Maybe suggesting it's benefits could influence your doc to

let you give it a try, depending upon other meds and diagnoses that you have of

course.   I am so much more functional now than I have been in YEARS!!!  I

have fewer 'down' days and even though I won't be running any  marathons and I

still can't hold down a job,  at least I have the energy to get around my house

easier, get a few more chores done in a day ( I can sometimes sweep up the

floors, load & unload

the dishwasher, and even vacuum - all in the same day!!!)
