Guest guest
HI Byron,I'm . I get terrible sinus headaches, and they used to be even worse,in that I couldn't even. hold my head up. I'd heard just about the same about blowing one's nose. Although I heard it in regards to blowing our noses too hard and too often. I also read on my various nasal meds (Nasonex, Flonase etc.) to blow one's nose gently. I have constant sinus trouble. In my case I'm allergic to dust, and I seem to have sinus trouble around certain trees and certain other chemicals or substances though nothing except the dust showed on my allergy tests. In a humid climate like I'm living in now, I honestly feel like there's liquid in my nsal passages. But what I wanted most to share with you is that I think allergies hit people in different anatomical places, and, what was an allergic response can turn *into* a sinus infection. Re: how allergies affect us,my husband doesnt get sinus headches, for instance, though he sneezes around many perfumes, incense and dust, and gets a stuffed up nose, or even a rash. I've probably taken more antibiotics for sinus infections than anything else. When my head hurts around my eyes, eyebrows and cheekbones, thats a sinus headache, but when I had them all the time( I worked where the live- in clients smoked all day) I wound up with sinus *infections* and bronchitis. I still get them but to a lesser degree, for one thing I'm finally not around any more chain smokers. Whether sinus headche alone or an infection is not always easily discerned, but usually when I feel awful, in addition to the headache, feel even more fatigued than usual, ache even more and in more areas of my body than usual, and have chills off and on, I have an infection. I don't always have a fever, but often feel like I do. Antibotics help me, but only for awhile, and as you know, taking many antibiotics may be part of how some of our conditions came about. At any rate, it's not a good idea for anyone to take them frequently, or I'd probably take them all the time! BTW, I did find that applying moist heat to my sinus area helped to drain them and also to help reduce the pain. Occasionally accupuncture helped, but unfortunately only briefly. a sister sufferer Re: Sinus Agony I was told by my doctor that blowing your nose can cause the infection to force up into the Eustachian Tubes and small sinus cavities causing lingering difficulties.
