What caught my eye was the word cytokines and since I can remember these

little rascals have been the subject of hundreds of studies going back to

the 80's.

They are a part of our immune system and they are running amuck in our

bodies causing our symptoms. From what I understand it isn't the infection or

a virus that makes us feel so horrible but these members of the army of our

autoimmune system. They get the message from the " Major " to get to work

and kill those invaders and the troops march out to search and destroy only

they never find the enemy who is well hidden or in disguise.

I must have read hundreds of studies pointing to these little soldiers

flooding our bodies, looking for the invaders but unable to find it and it's

actually them that leave us feeling so sick.

I know many M.E. patients have GERD, so I thought everyone might like to

read it.

Here's a description of GERD just encase you don't know what It is.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic digestive disease that

occurs when stomach acid or, occasionally, bile flows back (refluxes) into

your food pipe (esophagus). The backwash of acid irritates the lining of

your esophagus and causes GERD signs and symptoms.

Signs and symptoms of GERD include acid reflux and heartburn. Both are

common digestive conditions that many people experience from time to time.

When these signs and symptoms occur at least twice each week or interfere with

your daily life, doctors call this GERD.
