Hi, there!

Personally, I do not think that you hijacked the thread.....to the contrary,

I think this is a vital topic. It seems to me that without a good

understanding of the role of true salt in our diets, we handicap our other

efforts to build good health.

Just a thought re the energy, could it be that the benefit the adrenal

glands apparently receive from salt shows up positively in more energy?

Puts one in mind of the Biblical text about being " the salt of the

earth " ....no matter what one's belief system, the idea of salt being

essential is found in this expression......at least, that is how I see it.

>So Daddybob is this the grey celtic sea salt you are talking about here or

Something different?<

Apparently I've hijacked the whole thread, didn't mean to. I think this

started with someone talking about grey Celtic Sea Salt. I mentioned some of

the salts I had on hand, but right after that I uncovered a half-bag of the

grey salt. I started taking it all.

But the salt I talked about in my last post is the Jeveda/Jevatee brand of

Himalayan Salt available from www.life enthusiast.com. I ordered a kilo of

that last night. Despite the economy, I need the energy.

I took a fair amount of the salts I have on hand in the last two days and

have been rewarded with quite an enegy boost. The surprising thing was how

my back and neck responded by lossening considerably. I had never made that

connection.

Pytella of Life Enthusiast Co-cop is a great resource person and a

very fine individual. I was just reflecting yesterday that I hope that he

and people like him stay in business for a very long time......we need the

's of the world.

Taffy

Re: Salt Crystals and their structure

>ask the company where you buy your salt

if they use stone or metal wheels to grind it with.<

I will pose that question to Pytela.

His website info says that all of this salt is mined by hand with manual

tools, no explosives and no heavy machinery. The bathing salts are then

processed in India, but eh eating salt is processed in Germany. Knowing what

little I know from my little dealings with Germans in my little business,

I'd put real money on the answer being stone. I'll be back with the answer.

BTW, my first brine was made with the less expensive bathing salt. All you

have to do is let the impurities settle, but this time I bought

human-consumption salt.

Me too, Rowena!!

Thanks in advance!

Re: Salt Crystals and their structure

Hi Rowena,I will appreciate very much a copy of the 5 page report you offered. Please send to tdg39rr@...Thank you,Terry

I copied material off a Himalayan Salt site once, and was very interested in the crystal structure as demonstrated by photos there. The text said:What do these 100x Microscopic Views of Salt Crystals Tell Us?The balanced crystalline structure reveals fine branching, no shadows or rough edges. The crystal is not isolated from the inherent mineral elements (84) but is connected to them in a harmonious state. This tells us that the energy content, in the form of minerals, is balanced and can be easily metabolized by the body. This crystal is full of life. When taken as food, it will have a vital energetic effect on the body. The result is only a net gain for the body with zero energy loss. The unnatural crystals are totally isolated from each other and dead. In order for the body to try to metabolize these crystals, it must sacrifice tremendous amounts of energy with very little results, resulting in a damaging loss and zero gain. The salt deposits in our bodies look similar to this photo, isolated and dead.Irregular and isolated crystalline structures disconnected from the natural elements surrounding them. Because of this, the vital minerals, however many it may contain, cannot be absorbed by the body unless the body expends tremendous energy to vitalize them. The net gain is small with an even greater loss of energyIn Summary:The result of this research proves how well developed and vital the crystal of Himalayan salt is. It actually has life generating power for our body and our nervous system. The photo at left is Himalayan salt at 50x mignification. The regular table salt shows no vibrant crystalline structure but exclusively dead crystals. As a food, it's absolutely useless, if not a destructive poison. (This is why doctors tell us to use less salt in our diets). The photo at right is normal table salt (sodium chloride) at 50x magnificaiton.Sea salt fall between the two. It displays structure, however, the crystals are isolated from their important, vital elements. Therefore, an ional-colloidal assimilation of the elements cannot be guaranteedI think this is the link to the site for the articles. http://crystalsalt.netfirms.com/information.htmHowever, when I went there, the original article seems not to be there, nor the photos of the different crystals. This is the company:Hansa Crystalsalt AustraliaHansa salt products are produced by a German company, Licht Kraft Kristallsalz. They come from the Hunza region in the Himalayas, and were previously known as Hunza Crystalsalt products, and were also introduced by Dr. Barbara Hendel and Ferreira as "Original Himalayan Crystal Salt" in their book Water & Salt - The Essence of Life. The names may have changed but the product is still the same, as can be verified by the original logo of Licht Kraft Kristallsalz (still the same as when the company was known as Original Himalayan Crystal Salt), which is based on the seal of the Royal family from the area of origin.Hansa Crystalsalt Australia are an Australian company and the sole importers of this verified brand to Australia. Wholesale trade enquires are welcome, please call Eckart on (02) 98371011.At present, a lot of the information from the scientific studies is still in German, but we are working hard to present an English version soon. The comprehensive and beautifully illustrated book Water & Salt by Dr. Barbara Hendel and Ferreira is available in English now, and copies can be ordered from us.Another thing worth checking if making brine is the comparative costs of fine salt, grains and big chunks. The first time I was able to buy Himalayan Salt in WA it came in a brown paper bag for $60. I used that all for brine.Somewhere in my studies at the time, a person on one of the lists I subscribed to said he had found it cheaper to buy a crystal lamp, take out the fittings, and dissolve that chunk to make brine than to buy the salt to make it.I bought a candle holder without fittings, but never made it into brine, just put a night light in there every now and then when I remember. It is supposed to do something to, with or about negative ions. I heard in a shop that if you have a Himalayan lamp you should have it on all the time for the negative ions, but if you switch it off you should cover it with a brown paper bag. Probably to stop it disintegrating with damp or something, not sure. It's an interesting five page article that I have saved, if anyone would like me to forward it. It seems not to be on the site now.It also says:How to make your Saline Solution (sole)Loosely pack the salt crystals into a glass container with a sealable lid. Add pure filtered or spring water, completely covering the stones. After approximately 1 hour the solution will become saturated at 26%, and the sole is ready to use. The 26% concentration will remain stable with some stones undissolved, and as you use the formula you will need to keep adding additional water until the stones are completely dissolved. Then just add a few more the next week, or whenever they have completely dissolved, to continue the process indefinitely. Take 1 teaspoon in a glass of pure filtered or spring water first thing every morning.RowenaJane said:I was reading a packet of Maldon Sea Salt today in the supermarket and read37% sodium ...... that the crystals are pyramidal
