You should be seeing a difference soon I am surprised that your Advair is as low as it is for just being diagnosed, did an asthma dr diagnose ya or an ER dr? If it was an ER or FP you may want to seek out an asthma specialist so you can get an asthma action plan done up. Your going to get alot of suggestions and great advise from this awesome group, write alot of it down and take it to your dr for questions. Humidity will without a doubt set you off, Cold air will too, have you been test for allergies yet so that you know what will set your asthma off? I know alot of questions to answer but it'll help the rest of us know where you are with the asthma treatment to better help you. Again, welcome to the group. Now that you all know way too much about me , what I need to know is when will I be breathing noticably better? As it is I have coughing sometimes, the weight on my chest feeling, and losing my voice. Any input you want to give would be appreciated greatly. I was having panic attacks which was causing it hard for me to breathe even when my asthma was not flaring up. Now, it is helping me with the Albuterol jitters. - Sorry I forgot in my reply to you, please look up together Rx. They may be able to help you with Rx's. I was just diagnosed in March, and I can certainly understand wanting to know when you will get better! I had no idea what to expect from the meds with my first attack (and am still really learning about how they affect me, etc.) It took me about a full two weeks to really feel better. I was especially bad at night and I think I didn't sleep a full night without having coughing/wheezing fits for about 10 nights. I was definitely feeling a little bit better each day though. So hang in there and if you start feeling worse I would see your PMD or if needed, go to the ER right away. I agree with another poster that your Advair may be on the low side. If you go to www.advair.com they have a program to help you with prescriptions for their medicines if you do not have prescription drug coverage. It is something you should look into because I am pretty sure the advair is over $200 for a one month supply. They also offer $10 off coupons for those who do have insurance to help with your co-pays. I hope you feel better soon. > Welcome! I had gone to the Advair site and signed up there, but I didn't know I could qualify for anything else. We aren't so poor we can qualify for most things, but we aren't "rich" enough to afford stuff either.
