Kristy, I am so happy that you will be at the NDSC convention to represent

and educate about Mosaicism. Can the IMDSA help with your travel/registration

costs? I know it isn't free! I want to contribute toward your expenses, as

you are doing this for all of us. The check is in the mail; it isn't a whole

lot, but it all helps!

And yes, Christi and I will be definitely there; she closes her three-year

term on the Board this year.

Kristy--congratulations both on your talk and on the award nomination! You

certainly deserve it. We will send a donation towards your travel expenses. All

Kristy,

Wow, God works in mysterious ways. Space at the NDSC banquet head table is

precious. That well-deserved award means you're guaranteed a spot, so maybe

you would sit next to Christi and make sure her mouth is wiped clean when she

gets her award (for having served on the board)?

Hi Judie,

I am very excited about going to Atlanta, and thrilled that we will be able to

finally meet you face to face!

Unfortunately, it is not in the IMDSA budget to help with travel expenses. As

you know, IMDSA is still trying to meet our annual budget just to pay our

monthly expenses, so...paying for travel is out of the question. We are paying

for the registration fees to exhibit because we feel that the need is so great

to get information to those families and professionals. I did want to see if

some local organizations could help with our expenses (its a long shot, but

worth the try). Since the price of gas is outrageous (today it is $1.85, so I

hate to see it in July!) it will cost quite a bit for gas alone. Plus, the drive

will take us 2 days, so we will have to stay in a motel along the way.

I can not thank you enough for offering to help with the expenses. Your

donation isn't funding us to go to Atlanta, it is funding every single person

who comes to this conference who quietly wished they had information on MDS, but

had no where to turn! Every dollar counts and if everyone sent just $5 we would

have enough to pay our expenses to go to this conference. I have already told

the boys that we have to tighten our belts some so we can afford the trip! LOL

We still have 3 birthdays to get out of the way before this trip, so that kinda

makes things tough. (Garrett April 27, Aidan May 8th, & Tim May 19)

I can't wait to meet you face to face at the conference!

Kristy

ps I also have been nominated for an award for my efforts to help those with

MDS and all of the coordination I have worked on to help those with disabilities

in Colombia, South America. The award is to be given at the banquet. I am very

honored to get this chance.

That is great news!! My cousin lives in Atlanta and I'm thinking about

coming to the conference as well. I was reading the information and if I'm

correct if you're not a NDS member it's 180 for the family to attend? I'm

going to talk to my husband about it.

Kristy what day will you be giving your speech and receiving your award?

a,

That would be so wonderful if you could come! You could call the local area

support groups and see if they would help you with your expenses.

I am not sure when I will speak yet. And, all I know is that I have been

nominated for the award. (I dont know if you actually get one just because you

were nominated) The awards banquet is Saturday night.

I hope to see you there!

Dear Kristy

It's very nice to know that you are going to speak at the conference and also

pray that you get the award!! For not only extending your support to families in

America or nearer but, Asian country like Bangladesh. A place where people are

ignorant and try to hide from the reality of their child.

I apologies for not writing regularly but, believe me I never miss a mail that

is in my inbox. I am learning everyday. Until, today I have neither a friend nor

an organisation that could help me more then all of you at the MDS group do.

Words alone won't be enough for me to thank you all. I only wished that we could

go from here to be at the conference. It's not the financial support that is

stopping me but, all the hassel from here. Nevertheless, I would really

appreciate if I can get hold of all the speakers notes which may be of immense

help for me and my family. I envy you all for getting all the facilities of

buying books, materials or donating for such great work. But there's no option

for me to contribute or does anyone of any such ways?

Warm wishes

Tasneem mom to Waleed (11yrs) & Dareen (MDS 6yrs)
