My doctor is out of the office today, so I am going to take some antibiotics that I have here and take some more steroids, I can't afford to lose my job. I don't think self medicating is a good idea, but I need to do my best today after the mess ups on the job from yesterday because I was so sick.

sick again today

I am so sick again today, and yesterday I felt so bad that I really screwed up at work.

I am terrified that I am going to lose my job and I have some big medical expenses coming up. Of course, I knew that I shouldn't be at work, but my boss was saying that I needed to understand that my job description included being in the office. Of course, it didn't originally, orginally I worked from home, and then all of a sudden it was if you want to keep your job, you need to work from the office. Of course the only reason I accepted the job in the first place was that it was a work from home job, and now it seems that everyone gets to work from home except me and one other woman.

Have you tried talking to your boss. I think he's being pretty nasty to make you work sick like that. I'd remind him of your previous job description as well. I hope you feel better quickly.

God bless you!

It is always hard when you are in a work situation that is not

forgiving. Don't be too hard on yourself. You are only human, and I

am sure that you didn't screw up anything that can't be fixed. Try

not to stress. It will only make you feel worse.

I have done exactly what you are doing...taking some left over

antibiotics and more steroids. It got me through, but there are some

here that would say that is a no-no. It is kind of like

intuition....you are sick, and you take what you have to get you

through. Maybe you should be on more preventative meds...are you doing

any thing like...and I use the term like because we all are on like

things...like singulair, some kind of flovent/asthmacort. Those two

things helped me a lot when I was in a similar place as you. Nasonex is

also doing wonders for me, along with my albuterol. I am working on

doing my preventative and not having to do the albuterol..not having to

depend on it. It is hard to do, but I don't have a lot of

doctor/patient involvement. We have a clinic, and my goal is to only go

once a year for my script renewal. I hate having to do the flovent as

much as I do....trying not to take prednisone at any time. Especially

in the winter with the pollution. I know what pollution you are dealing

with...it is nasty in the metro greater Phoenix Arizona area. The

pollution there you can see away from the area as a brown haze. On good

days in the area, you do not see anything....bad days you cannot even

see South Mountain. Sometimes I wondered on good days is what I

breathed there just not seen...like an ozone type of thing....not seen

to the eye, yet very damaging. I know that the 25 years that I lived

there did unrepairable damage...moving onto COPD. Moving away from the

area when I did saved me a more years.

you need to get out of the valley if you are having that much problems.

It helped me tremendously. I have been out of the valley for about 12

years now. Phoenix is bad news, and Tucson is not a whole lot better.

There are other places in the state...Flagstaff is the next major city,

and it is really cold up there, but they have cleaner air. If for

family or other reasons move on out to Apache Junction. I found the air

to be a little cleaner out there. I found the air to be dirtier the

more west I moved...move east. That is my thoughts....

Yeah, I am getting desperate, and I still want to move to Portland. Convincing my Mother isn't easy, she loves it here and I am her caretaker. I am thinking about until I convince her spending a couple weekends a month in Flagstaff to help clear out my lungs. Yeah, I am on 3 preventative medicines now. I have already gained 3.5 pounds from the sterioids already.
